So, making an assumption here, were guessing the readers of this blog post will fall broadly into two categories. Those categories are, those businesses that have outsourced their seo completely to an agency, and some businesses that want to do seo inhouse.

For example, if you run a car dealership, and your business ranks high for a particular brand of car, yet people that click onto your website, only stay on the website for a few seconds.

Yet, a competitor who also retails the same brand of car, well when someone clicks on their website, they stay there for a long time, say over five minutes.

Google’s algorithm may therefore interpret that the competitor’s website answers the question better. So, you may see a website that has a high bounce rate, and this is sustained have the businesses rankings move down.

With that said, a high bounce rate is only one ranking signal that the algorithm will consider. It’s worth bearing in mind that most digital marketing agencies, like ours, believe there are over 200 ranking signals that the algorithm considers when working out where a business should rank.
