How long should a blog post be?

How long should a blog post be?

It’s the million dollar question, and its a question that many seo agencies ask themselves when they are creating content for a blog.

That is how long should a blog post be in order to be effective? How long should it be in order to rank well in search engines? How long should it be in order to keep readers engaged?

Well, to be straight to the point, there is no definitive answer to this question, as really it depends on various factors such as the topic of your blog post, so for example, if your writing about the construction stages to build a loft conversion, this is obviously going to be longer than a quick recipe to make a pizza.

However, there are some general guidelines that you can follow in order to ensure that your blog post is effective and engaging.

Here are some tips on how long your blog post should be:

– Make sure that your blog post is long enough to cover the topic comprehensively. If you are writing about a complex topic, then you will need to provide enough detail and explanation in order to do it justice, so don’t write every blog post to a set word limit of say 500 words, as some articles will need to be much longer.

On the other hand, if you are writing about a simpler topic, then you can be more concise.

– Keep your readers in mind when determining the length of your blog post.

If you are writing for an audience that prefers shorter content marketing, then you should not try to force them to read a long article of say 4,000 words.

So for example, recipes often need to be quick and to the point, as someone will want to make something to eat, they do not want to read 3,000 words covering everything from where the ingredients comes from, to what kitchen appliances, like blenders you like to use, or lets say which saucepan you like, as your reader unless they can obtain the information they need, in this case a set of instructions on how to cook something are likely to leave your website.

Conversely, if you are writing for an audience that enjoys in-depth analysis, then you can make your blog post longer, and some long seo articles, well they can easily be 6,000 words plus.

So what is a good length for a Blog Post?

It is no secret that a lot of companies will have already published vast numbers of blogs / content marketing to improve their seo.

In fact, there is so much content marketing out there that it can be overwhelming having to choose which blog to read.

With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that people are always looking for ways to filter out the noise and focus on reading high- quality content marketing.

One of the key questions that people often ask when it comes to content marketing is: what is a good length for a blog post?

This is a great question, and unfortunately, there is no easy answer. The truth is, the ideal length for a blog post depends on a number of factors, including the topic you are writing about, your audience, and your goals for the piece.

So In general, shorter posts are better suited for topics that require a quick answer, such as how do you make a Hawaiian pizza?

While longer posts are better for in-depth analysis or evergreen content marketing.

As a general rule of thumb, most people recommend keeping your blog posts between 500 and 700 words. However, there is no hard and fast rule about this – some bloggers write posts that are much longer or shorter and still see success.

At the end of the day, the best way to determine the ideal length for your blog post is to experiment and see what works best for you and your audience. Start with a few different lengths and see which ones get the most engagement. Over time, you’ll develop a better sense of what works best for your blog.

So why write longer blog posts?

There are many reasons to write longer blog posts. For one, longer posts tend to be more comprehensive and therefore provide more value to readers. Additionally, longer posts can be more engaging and allow you to go into greater detail about a given topic. Finally, search engines often give preference to longer articles when determining rankings, so writing longer blog posts can help you attract more organic traffic.
